A message from the owner...

This year we will be celebrating 15 years in business. It’s hard to believe we have been in business that long. That’s quite a milestone. As the saying goes, times flies when you are having fun. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my very dedicated staff and support system.   We have become quite the family business behind the scenes. My youngest son is a graphic designer and he develops all our logos and heading for the website and newsletters, my niece has created and maintains our website. Another niece escorts for me. My eldest son is a family counselor, so I take advantage of that when things get a little overwhelming. 
 
Readjusting to a home based business once again was more of a challenge than I expected, the biggest change was not having my office staff any longer. Things are slowing falling into place and I am enjoying talking to the customers personally and escorting more of the tours.  

I have been in the travel industry for more than 30 years and I am looking to slow down and enjoy my first grandchild, Lily Angeline, born in February. My youngest son is getting married this fall, so I have lots to be thankful for and look forward too.
I would like to thank everyone for their past patronage and support. We have enjoyed you touring with us are looking forward to having you join us on one of our upcoming tours.

Peg Lyga

I have been an escort for Here We Go Tours for four years.  It has been a fantastic way to enjoy "retirement."  My husband, Mike, also helps me escort on extended trips. We have lived in West Salem for 47 years, which indicates how long we have been a team.  We started our teaching careers here.  I retired from the Holmen School District after teaching 1st grade for another twenty three years.  I still enjoy the opportunties to be a substitute teacher.  I must admit, escorting is real upgrade from field trips. My favorite times are when we are at our cabin in the woods or at our cottage on the Mississippi river with friends and family.   Our family consists of two sons and their wives, two granddaughters and two grandson.  My greatest gifts! I enjoy many activites and hobbies, but my most rewarding hobby is knitting Christmas stockings as gifts. The opportunity to meet new people and renew old acquaintances has been great.

Ruth Olson

Ruth has been with Here We Go Tours from its beginning 15 years ago. Ruth escorts whenever possible.

"I have one daughter and four grandchildren including twins. They are a blessing." Ruth lives in rural Onalaska, WI and enjoys weekends at her getaway in northern Wisconsin.

Nancy Platteter - Owner

The travel industry has been my life for over 30 years. I worked as an inside sales travel agent for local and international companies before starting my own company. Here We Go Tours has grown from a part-time company to a full-time passion. My travels have taken me to all 50 states as well as most European Countries, the Caribbean, South America and the Orient. Although most of my time is spent in tour development, I still enjoy escorting our group tours. When I'm not traveling, I enjoying interior decorating, hiking, gardening, and spending time with my two grown sons, extended family and friends. My favorite place is still spending time at home in rural Holmen, WI.

Cindy Westby

I can't say how excited I am to be working as an escort for Here We Go tours. I live in Winona, MN and have been married to my husband Chuck for 30 yrs. I have two grown children, Chad and Chelsie. I work as a special Ed elementary teacher at Madison Elementary in Winona. When I'm off during the summer months I work at beautiful Cedar Valley golf and restaurant. I serve on different committees in my community. I originated and chair the Holiday lighted parade and reception held in Winona, co-chair the Goodview Gallop road race, all proceeds from both go to the American cancer society, I also organize different fund raisers that allow a group of youth to go to the Elks youth camp in Northern MN free of charge every summer. My hobbies include spending time at our cabin in Wisconsin, snow shoeing, boating, volunteering for good causes, and most of all spending time with my family and friends.
